Fireworks are only cool when you can see them

Otherwise they sound like guns and bombs and things and that makes me cranky. Actually, I'm already cranky as I'm hungover and therefore didn't go out. See, you're supposed to be hungover AFTER the New Year's Eve party, not before it. Damn Belgian beer and its ridiculous alcohol content. And why are these people so happy anyway? One day closer to the end, really. Besides, it's JANUARY. It's COLD. We still have five-six more months of rain. Hardly a cause for fireworks.
